The useful first step
A charging problem does not automatically mean the port needs replacing. Tell us the device, what happens when you connect it, and your town or postal code. We will confirm the assessment options and availability before you arrange a visit.

Read the checklist as text
- Compare. Try a known-working compatible cable and charger, only if dry and undamaged.
- Describe. Note loose fit, position changes, warnings or no charging response.
- Confirm. Get the assessment, repair scope and upfront quote agreed before work.
Start with the symptom, not a replacement part.
Does the cable fall out, work only in one position, or connect normally while the battery level stays the same? These are different observations. Include whether a second compatible cable behaves the same way and whether the problem began after a drop or liquid exposure.
You do not need to identify the faulty part yourself. An enquiry for charging port repair is a request to investigate the charging problem. Cleaning, connector work, a battery issue or another fault may require a different approach. The repair scope needs confirmation for your particular model.
What can you check before contacting us?
If the phone and accessories are dry and undamaged, compare with a known-working, compatible cable, adapter and wall outlet. Remove a case only if it is obstructing the connector. Stop if a plug needs force or will not sit normally.
Look at the port without inserting anything. Do not scrape contacts, add cleaning liquid or keep bending the lead to make it work. A liquid alert, damaged connector, unusual heat or lifting back cover is a reason to stop the charging test and seek advice.
For a phone that only charges when held in one position, follow our angle-sensitive charging checklist. For a device that charges normally but runs down quickly, see battery drain checks.
What to confirm in your upfront quote
- The proposed work: what the assessment found and what needs approval.
- The part and compatibility: the exact phone model matters, even within one product family.
- The arrangement: whether the work can be completed during a mobile visit or needs another arrangement.
- The testing and terms: what can be checked afterwards and what warranty applies to that repair.
If the assessment changes the proposed work, ask for an updated quote before proceeding. A text enquiry is not a confirmed appointment or permission to begin a repair.
Small-town visits start with an address check.
Mobile Fix Near Me serves Brockville and Eastern Ontario by arrangement. Use the community directory to check places such as Prescott, Athens and Merrickville, then confirm your actual service address. A listed town does not mean there is a walk-in shop there.
Same-day service depends on the device, parts, location and appointment availability. Confirm the visit before taking time off, travelling or making access arrangements. If you are outside a town centre, a postal code and nearby road help begin the coverage check. Share the full address directly when arranging the visit.
Send three details. We can take it from there.
Device, issue and area. For example: “iPhone, charging stops when the cable moves, near Prescott.” This is an example of an enquiry, not a completed repair or an availability promise.
Call 343-703-6000 or prepare a repair text. The contact form opens a draft in your messaging app. You review it and tap Send.
What to remember
Request the repair your phone needs. A charging symptom is useful evidence, but it is not a diagnosis or a confirmed need for a new port.
